Internet use in university education. Analysis of experience in initial teacher training

Abstract

The use of communication network, specially internet, in univesity provides a way to improve the training of the students. It offers on-line access to current information, a way to communicate with others and a chance to use the knowledge acquired in the Univesity.
Some of these possibilities have been tested in the initial training of professors from the University of Girona in year 97-98. This paper covers the program goals, the tasks developed and some feedback from students and professors. Several proposals to improve the training of future students are also presented.
