Information and communication technologies as enablers of selftraining and learning processes

Abstract

The new information and communication technologies will shape the educational processes of the end of the millenium. Their presence in our daily life will promote the appearance of new spaces, new approaches and new educational strategies (formal, non formal, informal) focused on improving the effectivity and quality of the teaching-learning process. The meaning of education and formation is also changing. Training is not anymore just a period in peoples lifes, but a continuous process linked to their personal and professional development. To promote this life long development it is necessary to promote selftraining and selflearning from a social, political and educational instances. It is also needed the development of new educational spaces. Information and communication technologies will play a main role on this development.
