Truancy in primary and secondary education. Some research results
Abstract
This paper analyses the phenomenon of absenteeism from school in primary and secondary education in socially underprivileged areas of Barcelona and presents some results on its magnitude, as well as the similarities and differences in the practices of intervention in educational institutions. The results presented are part of wider research into the practices and discourses regarding absenteeism in primary and secondary education, which was presented as a doctoral thesis in the Department of Sociology of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona.Keywords
