Vocational Education and Training and Woman in Rural Contexts: the IMUMEL Project

Abstract

This article introduces a selection of the results obtained by means of the project for the labour integration of women in Castilla La Mancha. The project has been funded following the Equal Community Initiative during the periode 2002-2004, and has been developed according to the thematic field reducing the gender gaps and supporting job desegregation. The article revises the main achievements of the formative actions developed to help the acces of the active and unemployed women of the above mentioned region into the labour market. The aspects included are about the procedures for analysing the needs for formation, the type of criteria followed for their stablishment, the difficulties found in the planning, organization and development of the actions, the kind of motivations and degree of participations of the beneficiaries of the project as well as the measures accompanying the formation that has been provided.
