Socio-educational innovation to support youth in foster care
Abstract
The aim of this article is to study the complexity of kinship foster care and to explore the social integration of foster children. This research project has been based on the cooperative research; the sample consists of 57 adolescents in kinship foster care and 79 child protection experts from 8 different Spanish regions. The results show that teenagers in kinship foster care require differential needs which demand a response which can be offered by the «Support program for teenagers in kinship foster care». In this article the main characteristics of this program are shown, as well as a reflection of its main issues: for instance, the support given to the technicians in order to create a new training and intervention group method and help them to introduce the promotion of the resilience as a perspective in their professional action with teenagers in kinship. Keywords
