Abstract

This contribution is in line with proposals that consider the educational centre as the suitable context for promoting change and school improvement. On this matter, innovation or institutionalization of change is the main referent to consider.

Educational departments and educational teams are considered to be the appropriate structures to promote and encourage innovations provided that they should develop the roles of staff bodies, use cultural strategies of work and adequately manage the collective knowledge generated. In this regard, some tools are provided and placed within the framework of conditions and restrictions.
