Epistemological Projection of social work
Abstract
Social Work has a pedagogical facet or dimension. Social Pedagogy arose determined by idealist Philosophy and by the nationalist fervour of 19th Century Germany. In the USA it owes its origin to John Dewey, who was also influenced by hegelianism and national feeling. Social Pedagogy must be split into two disciplines of different epistemological level: “Social Educational Science” or “Theoretical Social Pedagogy” and “Technique of Social Education” or “Practical Social Pedagogy”. The strategies and methods of pedagogical participation can be divided into preventive techniques, auxiliary techniques and corrective or therapeutic techniques. Keywords
