Foundations and educational purposes as a philosophy of existential education
Abstract
All educational activity is a tension between “what there is” -arkhé- and ccwhat we mean to achieven -télos. The basis of all educational process is made up of a philosophic anthropology. There is no possibility whatsoever of scientifically demonstrating which anthropology is reliable, precisely because it is metaphysical. We can only reason its validity without ever actually proving it. Educational aims are hipothetically made up from adopted philosophic anthropology. Were it not so, that is, the intention of building up a teleology of education of a deontologic fashion, one would be committing the naturalist fallacy denounced by David Hume. Keywords
