Some considerations about the epistemological status of philosophy of education

Abstract

This article deals with issues concerning epistemological statute in Philosophy of Education. It analyzes the evolution of the relationship between philosophy and education; fomsing on the specific contribution of Philosophy of Education on educational knowledge. We will focus on the diversity of issues concerning Philosophy of Education and its history. Finally we will define two different yet similar points of view on Philosophy of Education. Those viewing this subject area as closely related to philosophy, and those viewing it within the realm of the Educational sciences. We conclude with a list of the different areas this subject encompasses, aiming at creating a possible subject program.
