Epistemological basis of science curriculum

Abstract

This article deals with the importance of the epistemology when the Science syllabus is compiled. The article is divided up into three parts. First of all, we emphasized the aspects of Science teaching that make an epistemological model more necessary. In the second part, we present different models of science progress from the standpoint of rationality and we defend a model of "moderate rationality". Finally, in the third part, we introduce some guidelines for the teaching of Science based on epistemology. The article ends with some conclusions related, in general terms, with its contents.
