Abstract

A number of alternatives to language teaching are presented by the authors with the aim of responding the cultural diversity of classrooms, while promoting language comprehension and use among students. Starting from a practical proposal, it becomes necessary to establish a model of multidirectional and circular communication inside the classroom and, at the same time, to allow the students’ participation during the process of choosing and plannig the contents. Moreover, it may also be interesting to discuss the strategies and ways of teaching-learning and the kind of evaluation, which must always be along pedagogical lines, taking into account the active participation of the group.
