Classification and evaluation criteria of web sites of educational interest
Abstract
From the consideration of the two basic functions of the Internet, as a source of information and communication channel, we review the main tools used in the network and skills required of their users to take advantage of their educational opportunities. Following these observations, and focusing on the web sites issue, we analyze the main functions that can be performed in the field of education. We present various types and establish a model for the identification and evaluation of these sites considering various quality criteria. Finally we list the main advantages and disadvantages that the Internet can provide in education.
