Abstract

University is facing a new context characterized by a set of deep transformations that affect various aspects. The accelerated migration from a traditional university system -- with a rigid and little diversified offer of studies and a «secure» demand of local students aged 18 to 25, mainly consecrated to the presential study -- to a much more flexible new one with regard to the type of studies and the students' characteristics, has become a parallel process of reflection about teaching sensu lato. This has become an essential factor of competitivity within the university sector. The objective of this article is to reflect on the last years advances produced at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, standing from the evaluation processes of the studies; the steps to smoothen the transition from secondary school to higher education; the actions talen to promote teaching innovation; to the follow-up of the graduated students insertion into the labor market.
