Activating family capacities
Abstract
The analysis is presented of a model for family care from a systematic perspective. The focus makes a priority of a change of focus based on respect and consideration for the capacities and competences of people and the family as a whole to enable the management of situations and to find self-solutions. It is based on the opportunities offered by times of crisis as moments for change and improvement. It displaces the feeling of guilt and transforms it using responsibility and self-management. It reveals the fundamental theoretical, ethical and pragmatic dimensions of the focus being proposed. It offers important indicators for people that, in one context or other, have a relationship with families in order to enable the recovery of confidence within the framework of certain fundamental relationships in the evaluation of the capacities for change that each family has at a time when they are not judged but rather are offered guidelines for the analysis and restructure of their current situations. Keywords
