The assessment-accreditation of research in Spain: the experience of the National Evaluation and Foresight Agency (ANEP)

Abstract

The accreditation presents us usually as a process which assesses the inherent institutions and people skills that, individually or collectively, assume responsibilities in a determinate field of the social initiative, taking as a reference some criteria or quality standards. In the institutions of higher education, in the Universities to be precise, it is a practice that has gone projecting of progressive way in the teaching and research functions, complementing or diversifying its systems of: assessment, certification, checking, habilitation, audit, accountability, etc.
