Is it an ambition to have aspirations to change school supervision or is it a reasonable and possible goal?
Abstract
Education systems are living organisms and that is why change is part of its nature. Regardingeducational changes, whether they refer to processes or institutions, the importantthing is the content, its direction or its orientation, its speed and the actors who make itpossible. This paper shows a theoretical reflection, with empirical support, about transformingschool supervision into an essential function of the education systems. The textis organized into five sections: the first one presents the background of education reforms,the second one examines some issues that indicates the complexity of education systemsand its change, the third one refers to school supervision as a privileged field of schoolchange, the fourth one describes the experience of supervisory reform in the state ofAguascalientes (Mexico) and, finally, there is a section that deals with learning and problemsthat must be solved.Keywords
