Characteristics of primary and secondary school teachers according to the opinion of their former students

Abstract

This paper is based on the opinion of forty students of B.A. in Pedagogy regarding the characteristics of their former primary and secondary school teachers. Therefore, the paper shows the most outstanding characteristics that were pointed out. Likewise, this memory effort and analysis has been useful to deal with several matters related to teaching in depth, within the framework of the subject design, development and curriculum innovation during the academic year 2007/08.
Specifically, from the analysis of personal narratives we have been able to debate and reflect on dimensions of professional practice, such as mastery of content, teacher motivation, communication with students, the characteristics of the methodology and innovation initiatives.
